Classroom Equipment
The following configuration table list summarizes the universal hardware requirements to implement the CIW Program. Each classroom should have 13 personal computers (one instructor and 12 student stations).
NOTE: The CIW hardware requirements are similar to the lowest system requirements for Microsoft implementation (Level 1 requirements) EXCEPT that CIW requires increased hard disk space (8GB) and RAM (128MB). We mention this similarity because many training providers who implement CIW are also CTECs and are familiar with the Microsoft hardware specifications.
Instructor Station [1 computer]
- Intel Pentium II or equivalent, 300-MHz computer with 256K of L2 Cache
- 8-GB Hard drive
- 128-MB EDO RAM
- 32x CDROM
- 10baseT network interface card
- Twisted pair network cable
- 15 inch SVGA monitor with at least 4mb video adapter

- Router - Multi-homed system with 3 NICS (Windows NT 4.0 server)
Student Computers [12 computers]
