Japanese software engineer earns prestigious Grand Master CIW Developer award

Mr. Yoshiyuki Inoshita was honored in August at a commencement ceremony in Tokyo, Japan, as the first Grand Master CIW Developer for his monumental accomplishment of earning all Master CIW certifications.
Lindsay Miller, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Prosoft Learning USA, and representatives from Prosoft Learning Japan presented Inoshita with an engraved plaque during an award ceremony.
Inoshita is the first person to receive the distinguished title of Grand Master CIW Developer. The title was created specifically to honor his impressive achievement.
Inoshita earned his first CIW certification, CIW Associate, on Sept. 5, 2005. By the end of 2005, he earned the CIW Professional and CIW Security Analyst certifications. It took him just under two years to earn all the remaining CIW certifications, including Master CIW Web Site Manager and Master CIW Administrator. On July 25, 2007, Inoshita earned his Master CIW Enterprise Developer certification, making him eligible as the first Grand Master CIW Developer.
Inoshita has been working in the Industrial System Development Department for Hitachi Software Engineering Co. since 1985. He was born in Hokkaido in 1962 and is a graduate of Nihon Engineering University, where he majored in physics.
What is your job function at Hitachi Software Engineering?
I was originally involved in developing operating systems and database software. Currently, I'm mostly in charge of systems integration and technical support in the field of Web application servers, including WebSphere and WebLogic servers.
What motivated you to obtain CIW certifications?
My job is to work on systems integration and provide technical support. To do this, I found CIW the best fit since it covers a wide range of tools from foundations to applications.
Why did you choose to become CIW-certified over other similar certification possibilities?
Microsoft-related certifications, many of which I already have, are, after all, nothing more than designing systems under a client’s specification or skill knowledge to operate them.
CIW, on the other hand, provides you with basic tools to learn principles and technical foundations. CIW Foundations, for example, is a "must" for all systems engineers.
Some people say that Web page production basics are not of much use. I do not agree. Knowledge of authoring tools alone is not enough. You need to know coding to meet requirements of various clients.
