A CIW certification can give you an advantage when looking for that next promotion or job by proving that you have the skills necessary to get the job done.
There are three simple steps to becoming CIW certified and beginning an exciting Web-related career:
- 1. Choose your area of interest
CIW defines the knowledge and practical skills required to succeed in Web-related professional job roles in a variety of industries. CIW certification prepares you to fully perform a wide variety of tasks associated with a specific position such as a Web developer or a security administrator.
A list of job roles and respective descriptions is available to help you decide your career path. Browse through job roles and select one that appeals to you.
- 2. Prepare for your certification exam
There are several training options available to you to help you prepare for CIW exams for your selected job role.
CIW provides official coursebooks, kits and other learning materials for self-study and preparation that can be ordered directly from CIW. Learning materials are available for most CIW exams.
Authorized Academic Partners (AAPs) and Authorized Training Partners (ATPs) provide live, instructor-led training in a classroom or learning-center environment. Week-length to semester-length classes are offered for exam preparation. AAPs and ATPs are located in numerous cities throughout several states.
- 3. Take your certification exam
Certification exams are administered through secure third-party testing centers such as Prometric and VUE.
If you have selected a self-study training option, exam vouchers are available for a variety of testing centers. Exam vouchers can also be purchased as part of a study kit with training materials.
If you have selected an AAP or ATP for exam preparation, an exam voucher can be purchased from the provider or it can be included with the cost of training.
