The mission of the CIW program is to investigate the needs of the Web technology profession on a global basis, then provide industry-verified skill sets for Web professionals. To achieve this goal, CIW provides high-stakes certification exams that validate these skills for potential employers. CIW focuses on providing a vendor-neutral approach to Web development and design. As a result, the CIW program is the world's largest Internet Technology (IT) certification program: Over 110,000 CIW certifications have been issued since 2000.
The CIW certification program is committed to helping students pursue their higher-education goals by sponsoring three scholarships:
- One $1,000 winner
- Two $500 runners-up
