Just a few years ago Maher Dosoqi had a good job working for a Web-related company in Amman, Jordan. But Maher longed for something more - to be his own boss and to start his own business. He had several creative ideas for Web sites, but needed Web skills to be able to put his imagination to work.
Maher selected CIW certification over other certifications because of its worldwide recognition. Using CIW self-study kits to study and prepare for the CIW Foundations exam, Maher earned the distinction of CIW Associate and started working towards his goal as a small business owner.
Though he earned a promotion from Web Developer to Webmaster and received two salary increments after earning his CIW Associate certification, Maher stuck with his goal of starting his own business. With his CIW certification in hand, Maher felt the confidence he needed to help him succeed on his own.
Maher founded www.fxcore.com, a solutions Web site focusing on Web Design, Web Development, Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing.
When developing the site, Maher took into consideration proper HTML, XML, CSS coding and design standards - all knowledge he learned studying for his CIW certification.
"I learned to collect the requirements before starting out any design, then to follow the best practices in page design, layout and allocation of certain elements," said Maher.
Because of the success of www.fxcore.com, Maher is broadening his business model and is currently in the developmental stages of an online employment service, search directory and Arabic news portal.
