Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements HTML, Java, SQL, and JavaScript code and proficient in at least three of these languages. Uses an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio) to develop code. Works with other members of the Portal team to design and develop the Portal and its applications. Independently researches and determines approaches to solutions and presents them for critique by the team. Tests, builds, and integrates the approved solution to meet previously defined and emergent discovered requirements, applying accepted professional design and development concepts. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Estimates time required for tasks and completes work on time, keeping senior team members apprised of any deviation from the schedule and any difficulties encountered.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

Contractual Education/Equivalent Training Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or directly related field (e.g., Information Technology, Information Science, etc)+1years of related experience, AS/AA in Computer Science or directly related field (e.g., Information Technology, Information Science, etc)+3 years of related experience, HS diploma + 5 years of related experience
  • 0-2 years of related experience in web software development. 
  • Security+ CE required at time of hire
  • CIW JavaScript Specialist certification required within 180 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

Successful development and deployment using JSP, jQuery, Dojo
