Lead Percussion Specialist

The Lead Percussion Specialist is responsible for programming/coding standards-compliant, best-practice based, usable Percussion objects, workflows, and templates. The Lead Percussion Specialist is responsible for expanding Percussion functionality on this project. The Lead Percussion Specialist leads the contract team in managing CMS objects, workflows, communities, instances, roles, and services. The Lead Percussion Specialist works with the Lead Web Developer and the Lead Web Designer to implement new or edited web interfaces using Percussion WCMS. The Lead Percussion Specialist manages multiple Percussion WCMS instances across development, staging, and production. The Lead Percussion Specialist works under pressure, adheres to deadlines, and delivers a quality product.

Duties:

  • Create Percussion Web Content Management System (WCMS) objects, including templates, relationships, communities, work flows, and roles
  • Edit Percussion Web Content Management System (WCMS) objects, including templates, relationships, communities, work flows, and roles
  • Manage multiple Percussion WCMS instances across development, staging, and production
  • Work with Lead Web Developer and Lead Web Designer to implement new or edited web interfaces using Percussion WCMS
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle development of products created
  • Responsible for publishing sites
  • Translate the client’s business requirements into systems design
  • Work with the client's organization to establish technology strategy
  • Work with system owners, business owners, technical teams, and functional teams to deliver software solutions.
  • Documents resolutions for future reference
  • Works with existing staff in a seamless manner
  • Effectively develops in a clean, well structured, easily maintainable format

Skills Required:

  • Experience architecting and implementing (web) Percussion content management system (CMS/WCMS) solutions
  • Ability to create and edit Percussion Web Content Management System (WCMS) objects, including templates, relationships, communities, work flows, roles, state changes, and services
  • Ability to manage multiple Percussion WCMS instances across development, staging, and production
  • Familiarity with issue tracking software to document and track defects. (JIRA in use at NIEHS)
  • Experience in solution architecture, systems integration, package implementation, and/or interactive design, and Architecture experience
  • Highly developed troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with key business owners and stakeholders
  • Experience managing iterative or agile software lifecycles on technology projects; waterfall and agile/scrum software methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of HTML4/5, CSS3, JavaScript , jQuery, SQL, XML/XHTML, Web Services
  • Previous Section 508 compliant development
  • Experience working with API Calls; Parsing JSon Data, and Services (HTTP, SOAP, REST, etc.)
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Experience with source and version control with Subversion is a plus
  • Ability to plan and manage time and resources, establish priorities and meet goals

Client interface experience

  • Experience in performing detailed analysis and evaluation of information making informed suggestions to the government
  • Ability to learn quickly, comprehend and apply new and emerging technologies in an effective manner
  • Solid experience with web standards
  • Proven track record to identify potential project and process risks and formulate/implement effective mitigation plans
  • Prior experience participating in large, integrated teams including client and other third-party vendors
  • Ability to succeed in a dynamic work environment and ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments
  • Experience delivering full lifecycle development initiatives with cross-functional development teams
  • Strong production design experience preferred

Preferred Certification(s): One or more of the following

  • UXLabs Certified Accessibility Engineer (UCAE)
  • World Organization of Webmasters - Certified Professional Web Developer
  • CIW - JavaScript Specialist
