Instruction prepares students for the CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) Certification Exam. Students are introduced to the foundations and fundamentals of the World Wide Web and they will learn to utilize search engines and different browsers and to acquire basic knowledge of Internet technologies, network infrastructure, and Web authoring using HTML. Students will develop Web Pages in a text editor and graphic user interface (GUI) editor. After completing this course, students will be able to create Web Pages containing text, graphics, hyperlinks, tables, forms, and frames. Networking Fundamentals and E-Commerce will also be covered. Integrated throughout the course are career preparation standards, which include basic academic, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as problem solving, safety in the workplace, and employment readiness.
Must have a Designated Subjects Vocational Education Teaching, Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (DS CTE) Teaching credential, or be eligible to obtain a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential in the appropriate subject matter area (this requires a minimum of three (3) years of full-time recent work experience and or a combination of recent work experience and education) and possess a current license/certificate, as applicable, in the State of California.
