The Systems Analyst provides support for hospital information systems applications. This includes the ongoing maintenance of current applications and the implementation of additional applications/functionality. The analyst, while working directly with system users and vendors, will also facilitate the resolution of issues that arise with the use of any application they support.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college/university with a degree in computer science, technical management, or related technical field, or Associate degree PLUS equivalent experience (i.e. 2 years relevant experience equals 1 year of college) above and beyond minimum experience defined.
At least 3 years progressively responsible hospital-based healthcare experience preferred Working knowledge of current PC software packages and systems in a predominantly Microsoft Server and desktop environment. Knowledge of Microsoft office software, strong analytical and problem solving skills
Technical certifications preferred, including, but not limited to MCP, MCSE, A+, Network+, CIW, etc. dependent upon the area or applications supporting
Participates in the analysis, planning and implementation of hospital information systems
Maintains effective relationships with customers (physicians, management and entire team) to create a climate receptive to transformation through the use of information technology. Addresses issues identified by customers and follows through to resolution.
Participates in the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of information systems training programs. Determines competencies and user requirements to use software and required training. Participates in educational programs related to trends and advances in health care informatics.
Assists users in modifying current workflow processes to allow for the implementation and efficient use of administrative information systems based upon knowledge of business practices and cost effective measures.
Adheres to the established change management practices and other hospital and IT policies. Continually evaluate and suggest improvements to the change management process to mitigate the risks associated with modifications made to clinical information systems. Analyzes requests related to software modifications or changes in project scope. Maintains issues log of request and follows through to resolution.
Encourages the adoption of information technology and coaches users in the effective use and benefits of their respective information systems.
