The CIW Ecommerce Services Specialist certification* is part of the CIW Web and Mobile Design series. The CIW Ecommerce Services Specialist exam validates a candidate’s ability to conduct business online, manage Ecommerce websites, and apply strategies, technologies, and best practices essential to successful online commerce.
This certification demonstrates knowledge of Ecommerce fundamentals, including the evolution and components of successful Ecommerce sites, as well as the ability to guide developers, designers, and content creators in implementing effective online business strategies. Candidates also learn key business and operational practices, including establishing performance indicators, developing policies for privacy and intellectual property, and implementing customer service and digital retail strategies.
The exam also covers Ecommerce security, development, and infrastructure, including secure transactions, encryption, common security threats, payment gateway integration, and the connection of Ecommerce platforms with inventory, fulfillment, and other business systems.
In addition, candidates demonstrate an understanding of product catalog management, order processing, and Ecommerce marketing, including search engine optimization (SEO), promotional campaigns, analytics, and legal considerations such as privacy, taxation, and intellectual property issues related to online business.
